Future Development opened at Loft 676 (676 Broadway, New York, NY) last weekend. The group exhibition offers a comprehensive look at graffiti past and present. While other current exhibitions tackle the base subject, street art, Future Development more fluidly addresses the continuum of graffiti – something rare in American shows. Originators (like Queens-based QUIK) share wall space with contemporary legends (the best example here being the Tats Cru). Ultimately, Future Development attempts to reveal the past, present and future of graffiti.
